GBN Sophomores Down Niles West in First Conference Game

GBN Sophomore Boys top Niles West Wolves

The GBN Sophomore Boys Baseball Team found themselves in a pitchers duel through most of their game on Tuesday afternoon against the Niles West Wolves. With starter Jared Epstein matching his rival pitch for pitch though most of game, it was not until the top half of the fifth before the Spartan bats finally broke through.

In the fifth, GBN was able to finally break through scoring five runs and taking the lead for good.  Powering the attack in the inning included catcher, Jerry Park's bases loaded clearing triple.  The Spartans added another run in the sixth off a sacrifice fly by Sage Bruhl. 

Brice Call came on in relief for Epstein and closed the game out to give the boys a 7-4 victory.  The Spartans are now 6-4 having won six straight since dropping their first four preseason games during spring break.
