Gear for Goals (G4G) takes baseball gear to Cuba

Gear for Goals (G4) sends sports equipment to Cuba with Compassion Associate Program

Gear for Goals has been providing sports equipment to children throughout the world and now is proud to announce the successful delivery of compassionate care to children in Cuba.  For decades Cuba has been unable to actively engage in trade and work with the United States due to political challenges and this has severely weakened the opportunity many young people have in Cuba.  One of the many unfortunate circumstances these restrictions have is the limitation of sports for thousands of children in Cuba.  Poverty and limited resources hinder the ability of families to purchase basic necessities including sports equipment and as a result children have little to do and nothing for which to play.

When Gear for Goals (G4G) compassion associate, Mr. Dan Borris, traveled on his recent vacation to Cuba, he found enthusiastic and excited children who absolutely could not believe they were receivng these gifts of compassion for free. Joyfully, they clamored around as he passed the mitts, balls, hats, and shirts out to a team of boys and then he sat back and enjoyed the experience of seeing their smiles, laughter, and active play.  He said of the boys reaction and one of the mothers of a recipient, "it was like they won the million dollar lottery!" Moreover, Dan said this was by far the ultimate highlight of his vacation and he looks forward to taking equipment with him on all of his many travels abroad.  He highly recommends this as a compassionate act of service to anyone looking to share the gift of love with a child in need.
