Peter Resnick NO-NO's (NO HITS) #15 Ranked Niles West 3-0

Peter Resnick has pitched some gems the past two seasons for the Glenbrook North varsity baseball program and today in the cold 45 degree weather at Niles West was no exception.  Resnick was masterful keeping Niles West hitters off balance with his side arm delivery and excellent pitch location.  The Niles West program came into this game one of the higher ranked programs in the area but they were no match for Resnick and  the bullet-proof GBN defense.

Through the first three innings of the game, Resnick was locked in an old fashioned pitchers duel.  As the Spartans came to bat in the fourth, Bradley Margolin got them started with a single and then advanced to second on a throwing error.  From second, Margolin stole third and then forced a shaky Niles West Wolves catcher to launch a ball into left field attempting to pick Margolin off. Margolin scored to notch the first GBN run.

As the Spartans continued to battle the Wolves over the next two frames, spectacular defense continued to prevail as third baseman T.J. Tedeschi, outfielders Doug Mazewski and Chad Bruce, and first basemen, John Boidanis all made spectacular defensive plays.  To give some insurance in the top of the seventh, Sing Fong, singled and then Doug Mazewski blasted a triple to bring Fong home.  After, Mazewski's run scoring triple, Boidanis sacrificed him home to put the Spartans up 3-0.
