Students at Northbrook Junior High Want to Learn Why Chiropractic is an Exciting Career Path

Dr. Warren Bruhl and Dr. Joe Ethen of Northbrook Speak to Students at Northbrook Junior High about Chiropractic as a Career.

On Friday, April 27, I was invited with my colleague, Dr. Joe Ethen, to speak with students as part of the LIFT Day event at Northbrook Junior High.  LIFT Day is special event provided every two years to help students learn of different career paths available to them.

Parents and members of the local community come together and speak to classes about their chosen careers.  Students can sign up to learn about a career path they may want to consider as an occupation.

I have been honored to be invited to this event five times in the last decade and always look forward to the inquisitive conversation and questions students raise during these programs.  During this LIFT Day, Dr. Ethen and I spoke about the educational requirements necessary to receive a doctor of chiropractic degree, the mode of work, and the tremendous satisfaction chiropractors derive from their work.  In addition, we demonstrated the use of various tests we do in practice and even let the students get involved in some of the testing.

The overall response was extremely positive for the program.  I was also impressed with the variety of occupations offered and the strong volunteer nature of the parents and community leaders who help make this event a success every two years.

I also wish to thank the volunteers who make this all possible at Northbrook Junior High.  Keep up the good work and see you in two years for the next LIFT Day.
