Best Of Patch: Hamantaschen

What's your favorite spot to pick up the Purim pastry?

Our inaugural Best of Patch contest kicks off this week...and we've got food on the brain.

Specifically, we're thinking of hamantaschen, the triangular cookie traditionally eaten during the Jewish holiday Purim. We want to know who makes the best hamantaschen in town -- and we're asking you to share your opinion.

Here are some of our favorite places, but if we're leaving one off of the list, please let us know in the comments and we'll add it:

  •  (who makes the hamantaschen at )

Voting in the poll below is open until 9 a.m. Friday. Ties will be broken by whichever business has the most positive comments in the section below. We will announce the winner at noon Friday.

So please tell us what your favorite place is to pick up these sweet treats. And don't forget to tell us why in the comments below.

Thanks, Miriam. That looks easier than I would have expected!

How can both Leonard's and Once Upon A Grill be on there when they are the same hamantashen? Leonard's supplies the hamantashen for Once Upon A Grill. I don't think it is fair that they both are in the contest if they are the same thing. Max and Benny's for sure has the best! They get my vote! They have so many different flavors and 2 different sizes and not to mention taste amazing!

Thanks for pointing that out, Jacob. I wasn't aware that Leonard's Bakery supplied the hamantaschen to Once Upon A Grill, but you are correct. We've removed Once Upon A Grill from the poll, but if you love their hamantaschen, readers, please vote for Leonard's instead!

I have had hamantaschen from both Max & Benny's and Leonard's and there is no comparison -- Max & Benny's by far has the better treat :-) Max & Benny's hamantaschen are the real deal; they are tasty, filling, rich, and satisfying. I also love the wide array of options Max & Benny's customers can choose from when deciding which tasty triangular treat to sink their teeth into -- cherry, apricot, key lime, poppyseed, prune, raspberry, and cheese. When I walk into Max & Benny's, I always feel like I just entered hamantaschen heaven!

I've had hamantaschen from all these places, Max & Benny's is by far the best.
