PHOTOS: Families, Veterans and Rep. Bob Dold Turn Out For Memorial Day Festivities

Northbrook residents turn out to honor fallen heroes and commemorate village history.

Residents lined the streets of Northbrook Monday morning for the Memorial Day Parade, which started near the and wound its way down Cherry Lane, turning at Shermer Road and ending at the .

The park downtown has been filled with 1,901 American flags since May 26, the number representing the year Northbrook was incorporated as the Village of Shermerville.

The Memorial Day Parade concluded with a ceremony honoring the fallen featuring speeches by several community representatives and several school bands playing patriotic music.
