PHOTOS: First-Graders Get Up Close and Personal With A Skunk

Students at Wescott and Willowbrook schools visited The Grove in Glenview to learn about animal life.

First-graders at and  elementary schools got a firsthand look at skunks, worms, spiders, roly polies and other critters during visits to The Grove in Glenview this week.

Students took field trips to the nature preserve beginning Wednesday in order to learn about life cycles and plant and animal habitats as part of their science curriculum. Back in the classroom, students are watching caterpillars metamorphose into butterflies. Want to go back to first grade yet?
