Police Arrest Residential Burglary Suspects

On the evening of Dec. 24, three juveniles were spotted by a homeowner in the 700 block of Greenwood entering unlocked vehicles.

The following reports were part of a weekly Village of Northbrook memo.

Felony Residentail Burglary 

During the early morning hours of Dec. 25, a homeowner on the 2100 block of Valley Road was awoken by noise inside the home. Upon investigating the noise, the homeowner encountered a male subject in his living room.

A scuffle ensued and the homeowner gave chase to the subject who fled the house. The homeowner called 911 and responding units apprehended two subjects in a vehicle in the area. 

The homeowner was able to positively identify the subject he scuffled with and both subjects were arrested with charges of felony home invasion, felony residential burglary, possession of cannabis, misdemeanor theft and misdemeanor criminal trespass to property.

Vehicular Burglary

Over the Christmas week, a rash of burglary to autos and criminal trespass to vehicles were reported. Most of the incidents occurred to unlocked vehicles east of the downtown area.

On the evening of Dec. 24, three juveniles were spotted by a homeowner on the 700 block of Greenwood entering unlocked vehicles. Officers responded and the juveniles were taken to the police department, parents and guardians contacted and interviewed by juvenile officers.

All of the incidents are being further investigated.
