Update: Tornado Warning Expired For Northern Cook County

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning as of 8:38 p.m. Tuesday, June 21.

Update as of 9:35 p.m.: A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the area until 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. The previous tornado warning has expired.

Patch is getting reports of downed wires, downed tree branches on the road and power outages in the area.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a tornado warning in effect for Northern Cook County beginning at 8:38 p.m. Tuesday June 21.

According to the NWS, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing tornadic activity is moving towards the area at 50 miles per hour. The NWS predicts the storm will approach Northbrook, Glenview and Northfield by 9 p.m.
