Youth Softball Joins Fight Against Breast Cancer

Players in the Northbrook Girls Softball Association will be sporting pink all week long as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Week

Players in the Northbrook Girls Softball Association are learning how to catch, hit, throw and slide--and just as importantly, how to give back to the community.

For the first time, the league is dedicating this week (May 9-14) to raising awareness of breast cancer.

"We were talking about trying to do some fun things for the girls outside of just softball," NGSA Boad Member Pete Stanicek said.  "If it's something that gives them the chance to think about doing something good for their community and for people in need, then I think that's the best part of it."
