NorthShore's Support of NBK Farmers Market Appreciated

Northbrook Farmers Market recently visited the staff of NorthShore University HealthSystem's NorthShore Medical Group to present them with a certificate of appreciation for their support of the market.

The all-volunteer operated farmers market depends on support and partnerships with like-minded community organizations and businesses such as NorthShore to be able to bring the farmers market to the community.

“As physicians in Northbrook for over 20 years, we greatly appreciate a wonderful resource such as the farmer’s market,” said Dr. Steven Eisenstein, family medicine physician at NorthShore’s Northbrook office. “Getting fresher, less processed foods in the daily diet is an important tool to improve the health of our patients. We applaud NorthShore for being a sponsor of such a useful way of getting closer to the sources of great nutrition.” 

This year NorthShore is the presenting sponsor of Opening Day & Watermelon Cutting Ceremony on June 19. Northbrook Village President Sandy Frum will slice the watermelon to officially open the fifth season of the market. NorthShore also is hosting Closing Day & Li'l Pumpkins on Oct. 9. In addition to free pumpkin decorating, crafts and other projects, NorthShore will offer a kid-friendly obstacle course and health information.
