Art Reception for Linda Lee Goldman Exhibit at NSYMCA

The
exhibitor for April in the Y’s Community Gallery is Northbrook artist and art
therapist Linda Lee Goldman M.Ed.,
A.T.R., BC.  The show features a variety of different art styles including
realistic portraits, landscapes, flowers and abstract assemblage. The public is invited to a reception for
Linda Lee Goldman on Saturday, April 19th from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

“Every ten years my style emerges
differently as I take risks to achieve a certain atmosphere and create an image
that evokes mood and emotion,” commented Goldman.  Her current use of mixed media incorporates textures,
found objects such as rusted parts, aqua stone, and thick gesso. This gives the
canvas surface movement, texture and depth.

Linda
teaches graduate-level courses in Art Therapy and is a frequent presenter at
state and national conferences and symposia.
She maintains a private art therapy practice in her Northbrook studio, where
she assists children and adults to communicate through the visual arts. “Whether it’s a shy child seeking a safe
outlet or a mother suffering from depression, I firmly believe that the power
of art can allow everyone to find a place where their creativity and emotions
can flow without fear,” she explained.
