Court Watch Training, Skokie Courthouse.

Domestic and intimate partner violence affects up to 50% of all families in the U.S. today; every 12 seconds a woman is beaten and every six hours a woman is killed. Would you like to help reduce domestic violence? Join the volunteer Court Watch program at the Skokie Courthouse and contribute to this worthwhile project in a North Shore location.

Court Watch programs send trained, volunteer observers into court rooms to observe and report proceedings to ensure fair legal treatment of the victims of domestic violence. Court watch programs increase awareness of those involved in the judicial process of public interest and concern, and enable advocacy for needed services.

The National Council of Jewish Women Chicago North Shore Section (www.NCJWCNS.ORG) is hosting a training session at the Skokie Courthouse.  If you are interested, email info@ncjwcns.org.
