A special presentation will feature pictures and stories
from Newtown CT, where teams of comfort dogs are bringing their warmth, gentle
softness and calming presence to the children, families, and community so
shocked and grieving.

Comfort Dog JoJo and her handlers will be here to share
their actual experiences among the children and families in Newtown during the
week when the students returned to school after Christmas break. The stories are
amazing; the dogs really made a difference and touched lives toward healing and
peace.

Teams of Comfort Dogs have been on the scene in Newtown from the beginning, and
are still there now.

National publicity on network television has heightened
awareness of the wonderful service that these golden retrievers bring. They are
all placed in congregations through Lutheran Church Charities of Chicago.

This presentation was planned to coincide with the birthday
of Comfort Dog Strudel, who turns 10 years old on February 3. Strudel is based
here at Grace Lutheran, Northbrook, and is always available at church on
Sundays. She is often at the church office during the week, and goes out into
the community whenever needed.

Grace Lutheran Church is located at 2245 Walters Avenue in
Northbrook, 3 blocks west of the Metra train station. Call the church office at
847-498-3060, or visit our website:

The public is warmly invited to hear the presentation and
meet and pet the dogs. Come for church at 9:30 a.m., or just for the presentation at 10:45 a.m. There is no charge.
