A dinner buffet and presentation on personal safety is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 31, at Five Seasons Family Sports Club in Northbrook.
The dinner is at 5 p.m., followed by a presentation from Channahon Police Sgt. James Pozen at 6 p.m.
A 19-year veteran of law enforcement and a defensive tactics instructor, Pozen teaches police officers across the state on knife defense and handgun disarming.

He will provide an overview on the S.H.A.R.P. system, a self-defense system designed for civilians, including women, to defend against harassment and physical assaults.
Many of the techniques are taught to law enforcement and military personnel.
