Longest Night: Advent Service for Those Who Grieve
The Christmas season is supposed to be full of joy and cheer. But there are some for whom this is a difficult time of year. Death, divorce, a move, job loss, economic hardship, illness, or other personal difficulty can make this a season of loneliness instead of community, a season of darkness instead of light. On Friday, December 21 at 7:00 PM Northbrook United Methodist Church will have a Longest Night Service. This worship service, on the longest night of the year, makes room for all those for whom Christmas is a difficult time. We will have silence, reflective prayer, and candle lighting. Please come to offer and receive the healing power of love, hope and peace.
