North Suburban Needlearts Guild Meeting

The North Suburban Needlearts Guild welcomes Lisa Binkey, a renowned fiber artist from Wisconsin to our January meeting.  During her lecture ”Working in Series to Spark your Creativity”, Lisa will discuss some of the many processes and benefits of working in series, while sharing many images of her embellished quilts, and fiber and beadwork sculptures.  She will suggest ways to get started creating a series and talk of the challenges and creative benefits that come from series.

The general meeting will be held on January 8, 2013 at 9:30AM at the Gloria Dei Church, 1133 Pfingston Road in Northbrook. Guests are welcome. There is no charge for first time guests. Lisa’s lecture will follow the business meeting.

Lisa’s workshop, which will be held Wednesday January 9 and Thursday January 10 entitled Dot’s and Dashes - The Language of the Hand-Made StitchCheck our website for further information.  She will teach us how hand stitching with beads and embroidery thread is a wonderful, meditative and expressive way to create textured and colored dots, dashes, lines and shapes that can express their makers feelings and ideas. Students will come to class with one or two small, unembekkusgsed art quikts prepard at home that they would like to take to a a new level through the addition of hand embroidery with beads and thread.  This class is suitable for all levels of fiber artists.
