Rena
Sternberg Gallery presents the first solo exhibition of work by Sarah
Weber. Sarah graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the School of
the Art Institute of Chicago and received her Masters of Fines Arts from
the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 2011.

Using various
materials such as athletics jerseys, gouache, and metallic paper, Sarah
creates paintings dealing with adolescent issues that follow us through
adult life. "By culling images from her high school yearbooks as well
as All-American Iconography, she accesses the inadequacies and
insecurities of youth." She builds up layers through aggressive
mark-making, such as burning, cutting and punching holes. Her work has
been purchased by the owners of the Miami Heat basketball team and is
exhibited at the American Airlines Arena in Miami.
