Renaissance of the Arts in Bridgeport II

Another
visit to the new Chicago art “hot spot,” the Bridgeport neighborhood on the
near south side.  Mary Krebs Smyth, NSSC
Art Gallery curator, will be our docent as we visit the Bridgeport Art Center
located in the former Spiegel Catalog Warehouse and now home to many artist
studios, designers, and a gallery. We will then go on to the Zhou B Art Center
run by two internationally renowned artists and brothers who settled in Chicago
and established the Center in 2003. The Center houses many working artist’s
studios and gallery space with rotating contemporary exhibits. Explore many of
the artists’ studios that are open to the public, as well as whatever art
adventure awaits us in the galleries on this 3rd Friday Bridgeport Art Walk.
Dinner will be at the long time favorite Polo Café. Fee includes docent, tours,
dinner and transportation. Departs from our Northfield location. Registration
is $85 member; $99 non-member.
