The Accidental Paradigm: American Families in Postwar Japan

American military families in post-WW II occupied Japan and influenced Japan's industrial development. The families lived American style; the first post-war shopping centers and suburban housing projects appeared there. Japanese worked for Americans and even emulated them, and the results of our influence are present today in electronics and our car culture.  Researcher James Lamont will share his knowledge with us.  Registration is $10 member; $12 non-member.
