Wharton and Mainwaring: The Buccaneers

This critically acclaimed novel, set in 1870s England, is both a fairy tale and a depiction of the aristocratic marriage as a business transaction in which wealthy American young women gain a title, a grand house, and land in return for their wealth.  Parts of a film version of the novel will also be evaluated.  Author teacher Donna Rosenberg will be conducting the class. Registration is $20 member; $24 non-member for the two sessions.  Call (847) 784-6030 to register.
