GBN JV Boys Tennis Performs Well vs Opponents

GBN JV Boys Tennis Team records 11-4 record at GBN Fresh/Soph Invite.

On a blustery Saturday with a sub-freezing windchill, the GBN JV Boys Tennis team recorded an 11-4 record against some tough local teams.  Gripping their racquets with frozen fingers, they came out swinging against other JV teams from Maine South, Loyola, and Highland Park at the GBN Fresh/Soph Invite.

Jordan Wolken went undefeated in singles. After a quick victory in straight sets over Maine South, he faced a tough opponent from Highland Park.  With each player winning a set, the match went into a super tie-breaker.  After a grueling game, Jordan came out victoriuos. He used all of his energy reserves to beat Loyola in two sets, avoiding a second super tie breaker.  The doubles team of Adam Sak and Daniel Cole also went undefeated.  They blanked Maine South 6-0, 6-0, toughed it out vs a strong team from Highland Park 4-6, 6-4, 10-6, then handily beat Loyola 6-3, 6-1.

Next up for the team:  GBS vs GBN at GBN Monday, April 22 at 4:30 pm.
