Makeover Giveaway

Andreas Hogue Salon is looking for a few women in need. As a part of its First Birthday celebration, the Northbrook salon is giving away a makeover for two valued at $600 and is reaching out to its clients and Facebook fans to help find a person in the community who could use a little uplifting.

"Our team is very excited about this," said Andreas Hogue, Glenview resident and owner and Artistic Director of the salon. "Our first year has been so wonderful and rewarding–we want to give back."

What better way to give back than a total makeover and day of pampering? "Every day our salon is filled with smiling people who are laughing and happy….this is a place you come to relax, recharge, and uplift".

The winner of the contest will receive a fresh new cut and color, an Aveda facial, a brow wax and a manicure for both herself AND the person who nominated her.

The stylists at Andreas Hogue Salon love doing makeovers. "Our most rewarding moments come when we can completely change a person's vision of herself," said Hogue. "We have had occasions when guests just break down and cry because they suddenly see something in themselves that they didn't see when they walked through our doors."

Can a new look really change your attitude? "The color of your hair or the precision of a cut may seem trivial to some, but for many, it is just what they need to feel empowered and beautiful and to go out into the world with confidence and a smile," said Hogue.

"We are looking to help someone who is really in need of a service like this–someone who otherwise may not have the opportunity to spend an entire day in our salon for whatever reason," said Hogue.

The salon is accepting nominations on its Facebook page and has asked that followers post the stories and photos on its wall. Stories can also be submitted by emailing ashley@andreashogue.com. The contest runs until Monday, January 23 at 11:00 p.m. and the winner will be notified by January 27.

Andreas Hogue Salon opened on February 9, 2011, to much acclaim. In a time when the economy was hurting and businesses weren't opening, it saw more than 2000 guests in its first month alone and has continued a steady growth since.
