Northbrook Girls Softball Breast Cancer Awareness Day

In conjunction with National Women’s Health Week, NGSA is excited to announce its upcoming Breast Cancer Awareness Event on May 14th at Techny Prairie Park.  Among the many softball games played that day, we will be raising money through player sponsorships, vendor donations and the sale of items such as pink bracelets that help bring focus to the fight against breast cancer.  Given the many women and families affected by breast cancer, this particular cause is a great way for each of the girls participating in our league to experience being part of a larger team … and to “hit a home run” for our community.

Please come join us and make it a winning day for everyone!

Money raised will be donated to the Cancer Wellness Center and the Richard K Desser Memorial Fund (RKD Fund).  Located in Northbrook, the Cancer Wellness Center is dedicated to helping people live better while living with cancer. Learn more at http://thecancerwellnesscenter.org/cancer-wellness-center-northbrook/.   The RKD Fund was established in 1995 in memory of the grandfather of a NGSA player who was a practicing oncologist in the Chicago area.  The RKD Fund is dedicated to the prevention and detection of breast cancer.
