Documentary Powerhouse Kartemquin Films Releases First Audio Described DVD

Read how the award-winning documentary production company behind films like The Interrupters and Hoop Dreams is working to make their films even more accessible to the community.

Ever got the feeling, as you were flipping through your hundreds of channel selections on cable or Netflix, that there was just nothing good on? For 1 in 30 Americans who are blind or have visual impairments, the choice of media that's accessible is just a fraction of everybody else's.

The award-winning Chicago-based documentary production company Kartemquin Films (The Interrupters, Hoop Dreams) is working to change that by including an audio track to describe details of a scene in their documentaries.
