Change - The Dirtiest Word There Is!

Are You Ready for a Change?

Change:  "to make the form, nature, content, future course of something different from what it is or from what it would be if left alone."

What are some of the things that keep us from change?

  • Ridding of Old Beliefs and Values - We have a lot of patterns from the past. BUT - Closing an old door and opening a new brings a new life!

  • The Unknown - Easier to stay as we are in our comfort zones. But - Closing an old door and opening a new brings a new life!

  • A Challenge -  It takes work to change. But - Closing an old door and opening a new brings a new life!

  • Fear of Failure - Self Opposition.  But - Closing an old door and opening a new brings new life!

  • The Conscious Mind vs. The Subconscious Mind - The conscious mind is creative and will bring in the new.  The subconscious mind hold on to old habits.  But - Closing an old door and opening a new brings new life!

How Do you Become a Doer?

  • Prepare - Education, belief and vision.

  • Action - Get rid of the old and bring in the new.

  • Maintain -  Develop a plan and make repetative changes over a 6-12 month period.

The easiest way to change something in your life is to get a support system.

Support, Guidance, Certainty, Education and Accountability.

I Believe in You

An wise and experienced industrial psychologist taught me that people are most prone to change when faced with a crisis or "near death" experience. I have found that to be true. It points to a flaw in the 2008 "Hope and Change" slogan. It is obvious, now, we didn't change that much: given "hope" there is no reason to change. However, if the option had been "Change, or there is No Hope" the acual results might have been very different. Eric Lieberman www.liebermanforillinois.com
