Born in the Ukraine, raised in Skokie, I've been writing stories since my parents got a computer when I was 5.
I wrote for my high school newspaper, I wrote for my college newspaper, and I am excited to keep doing what I love for the people of Northbrook.
A journalism professor in college once called me weird, “in a good way.” He then assigned me a couple stories that eventually ran in the Chicago Sun-Times. It was a big accomplishment for me at the time, but looking back on those articles I feel like a much better reporter now.
Still just as weird though.
I can't wait to personally meet the people of Northbrook, discover what makes this town unlike any other and help folks stay connected to their community.
If there's any kind of news or content you would like to see more of, feel free to send me a tip. I'd love to hear your ideas!
What makes Northbrook unlike any other town you ask. Umm, nothing. Get real. It's a typical upper middle class suburb. But welcome I guess. Does Patch still require you to live here?
I was born in Odessa but I've been around Chicago for as long as I can remember. The Sun-Times published a profile I wrote about a jazz playing monk, and a story on religious spaces shared by congregations of different faiths. I'm sure Northbrook has certain qualities that separate it from nearby communities and I can't wait to discover those first-hand. It certainly doesn't feel like Skokie or Evanston, where I grew up. Thanks for the greeting, keep in touch!
