Northbrook Green 12U Travel Baseball Goes Undefeated to Win Northbrook's 4th of July Tournament 12 A Division

On Sunday, July 1, the Northbrook Green 12U travel baseball team won the A Division championship in the 17th Annual Northbrook 4th of July Tournament with a 10-7 victory over the Lake Villa Legends in the title game.

Northbrook Green was 3-0 in pool play to earn its spot in the title game.  Lake Villa came into the title game seeking to avenge a 3-2 loss to Northbrook Green earlier in the day in pool play, and earned a spot in the championship game by defeating the Do It Right Baseball Mudcats from Chicago in an extra-inning game.  In the title game, Northbrook Green rode hot bats throughout the lineup and strong pitching from Jack Garibaldi and Ben Boeke to win a back-and-forth contest.  In addition to Garibaldi and Boeke, Northbrook Green got key contributions at the plate and in the field from Evan Barnes, Brandon Coleman, Jackson Duncan, Ben Harkey, Jimmy Karfis, Chris Niswonger, David Rubin, Daniel Spencer, Ryan Veith, and Nick Woloszyn.

Lake Villa recently clinched a championship in the Lake County Baseball League's upper-tier 12U division, entering the Northbrook tournament with a 21-3 record in that league.  Northbrook currently is 4-1 and tied for first place in the Lake Shore Feeder Baseball League's 12A Division.
