Dr. John Conlin Died Last Week, Funeral Saturday

Visitation at 10:00 a.m. prior to Memorial Mass celebrating his life on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Norbert Church in Northbrook.

The following letter was provided by Dr. John M. Conlin's family.

Dr. John M. Conlin, aged 57, of Williams Bay, WI, formerly of Northbrook, IL passed away suddenly November 6, 2012. He is survived by his beloved “darling” wife Marianne, nee Eriksen, and his cherished children Sean, Kristina, John, and stepson Jason Bondy. He was the adored brother of Judith Hughes of Northbrook, the late Susan Schoden of Morehead City, NC and favorite uncle of Rob and John Hughes, Patti Hughes Smith, Christopher, Kevin, Keith and Kyle Schoden and Samantha Schoden Odisho.  His parents Jack & Lois (Kirkley) Conlin predeceased him. 

Dr. Conlin devoted his life to helping others as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in private practice, and as the Village of Northfield Police Psychologist. His caring touch reached many.

A dedicated community volunteer, he was a member of Northbrook Civic Foundation, Rotary Club of Northbrook and the Knights of Columbus. He served as a District 225 Board Member, a bereavement counselor at St. Norbert, on a Village Commission. After his move to Wisconsin, his volunteer activities included the Lions Club, serving as a Board Member for the town of Williams Bay, as an Advisory Board Member of Madraigos Midwest, and with other community organizations in both towns.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed being with his family and his many friends, travel, cooking and a good cigar. He will be remembered for his love of life, generous spirit, sense of humor, work ethic, and his dedication and service to others.

Visitation at 10:00 am prior to Memorial Mass celebrating his life on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 11:00 am at St. Norbert Church, 1809 Walters Ave., Northbrook. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Dr. John M. Conlin Memorial Fund, Williams Bay Bank,  P.O. Box 725, Williams Bay, Wisconsin  53191.
