Rep. Scott Drury, in my opinion, has posted a very dangerous message on his facebook page that says..."As of Jan.1, 2014, people can carry loaded concealed weapons." This is statement has no mention of the required Conceal Carry License or the fact that nobody in the entire state has been issued a CCL. A person that takes this information on face value and was caught conceal carrying a loaded weapon, could be arrested and charged with a Felony weapons charge of AUUW /UUW. In my opinion, it is very irresponsible of Rep. Scott Drury to improperly inform the general public about such a serious matter. Our Constitutional Right to Bear Arms has been reaffirmed by the Supreme Court, the Federal Appeals Court and the Illinois Supreme Court... it is time to elect government officials that respect our Constitutional Rights and have the good sense to not mis-inform the public and put them at risk of being arrested and convicted, based on their ill-conceived message.
