$10K in Goods Stolen from Van on Huehl

Another car was broken into and $420 in cash was taken.

The following is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt. 

Van burglarized

A citizen contacted police at 9 a.m. July 19 reporting a van behind a home in the 400 block of Huehl Rd that appeared to have been burglarized. The officer observed the side sliding door open and the front passenger window smashed out, as well as numerous open boxes of cellular phones and other miscellaneous electronic equipment in plain view in the rear cargo area of the van. The vehicle owner was contacted and said it appeared that approximately $10,000 in goods had been stolen.

Victoria R. Belk, 21, of the 5200 block of Carriage Way in Rollling Meadows, was involved in an auto accident near the intersection of Lake Cook Rd and Skokie Hwy at 430 p.m. July 17. Officers learned that her Illinois driver’s license was suspended. She was released on $2,000 bond with an Aug. 21 court date.                                                                                 

Burglary to auto

The victim reported that someone stole approximately $420 in cash from a vehicle while it was parked on the street in the 200 block of Glendale Road July 17. It is unknown if the auto was locked

Stolen registration sticker

Vadim Arutinov, 35, of the 100 block of Harding in Vernon Hills, was stopped for a traffic violation at Shermer and Walters at noon July 18. An officer determined the registration sticker on the license plate had been reported stolen in Wheeling. He was charged with improper use of registration, operation of a vehicle with expired registration, no proof of insurance, no drivers license on person and possession of a stolen registration sticker. He was released on $2,000 bond with an Aug. 21 court date.

Purse snatched

Someone stole a purse while she was eating at the restaurant in the 1800 block of Lake Cook Road at 1:15 p.m. July 18. The purse was not recovered and police are checking to determine if there was any security surveillance from the restaurant.  

Driving with a revoked license

Carlos Rendon, 50, of the 700 block of Linden Ave. in Waukegan, was stopped for a traffic violation in the 700 block of Pfingsten at 9:45 p.m. July 20. Police learned that his driver’s license was revoked. He was charged with driving on a revoked license and failure to properly secure his seatbelt, released on $1,500 bond and given an Aug. 29 court date.
