2 Burglaries In 1 Subdivision, Thief Spotted In Car

Two separate people in the same subdivision reported that valuables were stolen from their vehicles Saturday, June 4, while the cars were parked in the garage, according to police.

A resident of Indian Wells Lane opened her garage door last Saturday to see a stranger sitting in the front seat of her car.

The man immediately took off running north on Indian Wells, the homeowner later told police.

When she checked the car he was sitting in, she discovered that a $500 pair of pink Ray-Ban sunglasses and an iPod car charger had been stolen, according to police. A $150 pair of Ray-Bans and another iPod car charger were also stolen from the center console of a second vehicle in her garage.

The incident happened at 1:15 p.m., according to police.

Another burglary to a car parked inside a garage was also reported on Pebble Beach Road last Saturday.

A man told police that he walked into the garage from inside the home and noticed that the overhead garage door was open and the passenger side front doors of both his parents’ cars were also open.   

Gone missing was $275 in cash, a pair of “IC Berlin” prescription sunglasses worth $750, an insurance card and a Four Seasons baseball hat, according to police.

The second burglary was reported to police at 1:27 p.m. Saturday. Indian Wells Lane and Pebble Beach Road are located just a few blocks apart in the same subdivision off Dundee Road.
