$575 Worth of Alcohol Stolen in Northbrook Burglary

Featured in this week's blotter: four burglaries and one DUI.

The following reports were provided by the Northbrook Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations and not proof of guilt.

Burglary

On May 11, someone entered a garage on the 2700 block of Greenwood Road and took about $575 worth of alcohol, according to police. The property owner reported the alcohol was in the garage in the morning, but the garage may have been left open for a brief period of time during the day, police say.

On May 8, a resident on the 2000 block Illinois Rd. reported her house was burglarized, with various jewelry and electronics items stolen, according to police.

On May 10, residents on the 3000 block White Pine Drive reported a ruse burglary after a man lured them to the backyard to talk about doing some landscaping, and several pieces of jewelry were later missing from the home's master bedroom, police say.

On May 11, someone on the 100 block of Trailwood Lane reported a burglary after arriving at the home and finding the front door had been broken open, according to police. The resident found a bedroom was entered, dresser drawers opened and jewelry taken, police say.

DUI

On May 12, officers arrested Ryan Nichols, 29, of Glenview, for DUI after being stopped for a traffic violation, according to police.
