70-Year-Old Man Dies After Multi-Car Crash on I-294

A Las Vegas man died after spending a week in the hospital following the crash.

The Northbrook Star reports that a 70-year-old man passed away Wednesday, one week after he was involved in a four-car crash on the Tri-State Tollway near Sanders Rd.

A spokesperson for the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office told the Star that David Calabrese, of Las Vegas, was pronounced dead at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

Calabrese was a passenger in one of the cars involved in the crash, which took place Feb. 23 and is still under investigation by Illinois State Police, according to the Star.
