8 Light Poles Stolen from Commercial Avenue

They were 12-15 feet long.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Warrant arrest

Officers stopped a vehicle driven by Jose R. Ortega, 29, of Waukegan at Shermer and Janke drives May 9 at noon for a traffic violation. Officers learned that his driver’s license was revoked and that he had an outstanding warrant from Cook County. He was released on $1,500 bond with a June 11 court date.  

Car scratched

The complainant reported the passenger side door of his 2008 Pontiac was scratched sometime during the past week on the 2300 block of Shermer Road.   

Battery

Jessica Zamora, 19, of Waukegan, and Kayla Miranda, 20, of Zion, were involved in a verbal altercation with a victim in Northbrook, which turned physical. Both women physically assaulted the victim, and fled only when they learned the police were responding. They were located and taken into custody by Waukegan police. They were transported to the Northbrook Police Station, where they processed and released on $1,500 bonds with June 10 court dates.

Pick-pocketing

A woman told police that she was in a store in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road May 13 when she believes her cell phone was pick-pocketed from her left front pants pocket. The phone is described as an iPhone5 in pink case.                                                                                              

Theft

Someone stole eight steel aluminum light poles that are 12-15 feet long from company property in the 3100 block of Commercial Avenue. The complainant believes the theft occurred sometime the week of May 5.

The victim reported that his blue Nike backpack containing a Samsung Chromebook was stolen in the 2300 block of Shermer Road May 2. The estimated loss is over $200.      

Someone stole cash from an office in the 100 block of Revere Drive between April 30 and May 14.

Trespassing

Matthew L. Wald, 28, of Vernon Hills, had been warned in the past about returning to a residence in the 3100 block of Techny. When he went there at 5:15 p.m. May 14, he was arrested for trespassing, and was released on $1,500 bond with a June 5 court date.
