$900 Worth of Cadillac Hubcaps Stolen

Someone stole all the caps off six Cadillacs in Northbrook.

The following reports were provided by the Northbrook Police Department. 

Theft

On April 16, someone on the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard removed all the center hubcaps from six Cadillac Escalades, with each set of four worth about $150.00, according to police. Reported loss is about $900.00.

On April 15, an employee on the 700 block of Skokie Boulevard reported an unknown man entered a cubicle area of the office while other employees were in different room for a meeting, according to police. The unknown man told a witness that was looking for a “Jason” and the witness told the man that there was no one named “Jason” employed there, according to the report. Employees later checked their cubicles for any missing items and two employees related that their purses had been searched though and some cash had been removed, police say.

Vehicular Burglary

On April 14, someone smashed the passenger side window of a car parked on the 2900 block of Dundee Road and took a wallet from the front seat, according to police. 

Between April 12 and 15, someone broke into two company vehicles parked on the 3100 block of Macarthur Boulevard, according to police. A Makita miter saw, Paslode nail gun and Makita hammer drill were removed from one car, according to police. Nothing was removed from the second car, police say. 

Burglary

On April 15, someone reported a ruse burglary on the 800 block of Bittersweet Drive, according to police. Someone posed as a telephone company employee asking to do testing in the basement of the residence, according to the report. While the homeowners were downstairs with the subject, an unknown subject removed a safe containing about $10,000.00, gold coins, various currency and jewelry from the master bedroom, police say. Additional jewelry from a second bedroom was also missing, according to the report.
