Rash of Nearby Car Burglaries Occur in One Day

Northbrook police said eight people reported their vehicles were burglarized on Oct. 10.

The following incidents were provided by the Northbrook Police Department.

Northbrook police said eight residents reported that their vehicles were burglarized on the same day last week.

The reported burglaries occured between the morning and early afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 10., according to police. Most of the vehicles were parked near homes and left unlocked by victims, police said. The items reported stolen range from coins and $1 bills to credit cards and iPods.

At 6:06 a.m., on the 1500 block of Cedar Ln., a man reported that two Apple iPod's were stolen worth a combined loss $300, police said.

A woman reported a $1 bill stolen from her vehicle on the 1800 block of Elm Ave., at 6:43 — and another woman in the same block reported the same amount stolen from her vehicle four minutes later, according to police.

At 8:15 a.m. on the 1300 block of Western Ave., a victim said she found her purse and its contents scattered about her vehicle, and her iPod stolen, police said. At the same time, on the 1700 block of Marcee Ln., a woman reported $12 stolen, according to police.

A small, undetermined amount of coins was reported stolen from a vehicle on the 1800 block of Illinois Rd., at 10:16 a.m., and just three blocks up, at 12:43 p.m., someone reported $20 stolen from their vehicle, according to police.

At 1:13 p.m., on the 1500 block of Spruce Rd., two credit cards and an iPod were stolen for a loss of $300, police said.
