Accidents at Dundee and Fair Cause Car Fire, Rail Damage

Car Accident Damages Train Crossing's Traffic Control Device
At about 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 10, a single vehicle left the roadway in the area of Dundee and Fair Lane, causing damage to a rail crossing control device. The driver of the vehicle was treated and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Metra crews remained on scene for most of the day directing traffic until repairs could be made to the rail crossing device.

Vehicle Catches Fire After Accident
At about 3:00 a.m. on Dec. 8, a single vehicle accident resulted in the car starting on fire in the area of Dundee Road and Fair Lane. The single occupant of the vehicle was out of the car by the fire department's arrival. The occupant was treated and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries as additional crews extinguished the car fire. The cause of the fire and accident is currently being investigated.
