The Northbrook-based insurance company has sued a former employee seeking restitution of money they claim he embezzled.
Northbrook-based Allstate Insurance Crop. filed a lawsuit on June 14 alleging that former employee Ricardo Campos Jr., 36, manipulated the time of death for at least three beneficiaries and funneled some $760,000 of company funds into a personal accounts over the course of some six years, Chicago Tribune reported.
Campos worked at Allstate’s Northbrook headquarters for about 14 years as a senior claims examiner, where he was responsible for investigating structured settlement payment claims and making sure the payments stopped when the beneficiaries died--Campos is currently serving a five-year sentence at Vandalia Correctional Center after pleading guilty to theft in April, the newspaper reported.
