Animal Rescue Donation Jar Stolen From Northbrook Court

Supports are rallying to help Orphans of the Storm after a donation jar was stolen from the animal rescue on Thursday.

People are rallying to support Orphans of the Storm, an animal rescue that has been operating out of Northbrook Court, after one of their donation jars were stolen on Thursday.

"We have no idea just how much cash or checks were in the jar, but we do know that our daily intake has been significant in each donation jar," OOTS wrote in a Facebook post. "...our holiday mission will continue to place as many pets as possible into loving homes by Christmas."

News of the theft is spreading across Facebook, where fans of the shelter are vowing to send donations to offset the shelter's loss.

"My kids love to donate and often give up their own pocket money to help. So sad that someone walked away with Children's Christmas wishes for these defenseless animals," Facebook user Juanita Medina wrote to the shelter.

"This is why I love dogs more than people," Courtney Natkin wrote.
