Northbrook Driver Kills 90-Year-Old Woman in Parking Lot Crash

The victim was using a walker to cross a grocery store parking lot.

A 90-year-old Arlington Heights woman died Friday after being hit by a car driven by an 88-year-old Northbrook woman in a Mount Prospect Jewel-Osco parking lot, according to the Daily Herald. 

Harriet S. Abernethy-Ogorzalek used a walker as she crossed the parking lot in a marked pedestrian crossing lane in Mount Prospect when the crash happened about 2 p.m. Friday, according to the article. 

Abernethy-Ogorzalek, of the 800 block of East Central Avenue in Arlington Heights, was pronounced dead at 5:19 p.m., according to the Chicago Tribune. 

The Northbrook woman was not injured in the crash, according to the article.
