Arson Reported at Northbrook Storage Lot

A plastic garbage can was also completely melted in a separate incident.

The following is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt. 


Arson

A fire had started on a tarp by unknown means in a storage area south of Northbrook Court at 7:30 p.m. July 20. Police observed at least two points of origin in the vicinity of where the tarp/canopy was located and an additional point of origin for a third fire southeast in the storage lot. The approximate cost of repair is $600.

Driving on a suspended license

Lourdes Soriano-Santiago, 44, of the 0-100 block of Walker in Highwood, was stopped for a traffic violation at Landwehr and Riverfalls at 10 a.m. July 21. Officers learned that her driver’s license was suspended. She was charged with driving with a suspended license, suspended registration and no insurance, and was released on $3,000 bond and given an Aug. 14 court date.

Melted garbage can

Police observed July 21 that a plastic garbage container in the 2400 block of Greenview had melted completely to the ground in the 2400 block of Greenview road. It appears that the damage was caused by some incendiary material. The estimate loss is approximately $200.              

Driving on a suspended license

Michael L. Aulbach, 55, of the 1100 block of Greenbriar Lane in Northbrook, was stopped for a traffic violation in the 1200 block of Greenbriar at 11 p.m. July 21. Police learned that his driver’s license was suspended. He was released on $1,500 bond and given an Aug. 21 court date.

Theft

Someone stole $200 sunglasses that had placed on a hostess stand in the 4000 block of Lake Cook Road.

Warrant service

An officer observed Kelly Bell, 50, of the 1300 block of Longchamps in Grayslake, standing in front of a residence in the 2800 block of Koepke Rd July 23, and recognized her as having an active bond forfeiture warrant. She was placed her in a cell awaiting a bond hearing.

Driving with a suspended license

Marco Saldana, 21, of the 300 block of Temple in Highland Park, was stopped for a traffic violation at 3 a.m. July 23. Police learned his driver’s license was suspended. He was charged with speeding, driving with a suspended license and no valid insurance, released on $2,000 bond and given an Aug. 21 court date.
