Blotter: 2 DUIs; $200,000 Burglary From Foreclosure

Driving Under the Influence

Mark Shapiro, 29, of Wheeling, was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested at Bordeaux Court and Michelline Lane Saturday, Jan. 14, according to police. He was charged with driving under the influence, two counts of violating the median and two counts of improper lane usage. 

Emmanuel Garduno, 33, of Wheeling, was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested at Dundee Road and Skokie Boulevard Sunday, Jan. 15, police reported. He was charged with driving under the influence, driving without a valid license and impeding traffic by driving too slowly.

Driving With A Suspended License

Mi Ji Pak, 48, of Chicago, was stopped for a traffic violation, arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license at Dundee and Waukegan roads Monday, Jan. 9, according to police.

Gerardo Gonzalez, 37, of Wheeling, was stopped for a traffic violation, arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license at Willow Road and I-294 Monday, Jan. 9, police reported 

$200,000 Burglary From Foreclosed Home

The bank that owns a foreclosed property in the 2200 block of White Oak Circle reported that more than $200,000 worth of items had gone missing from the residence sometime last year, according to police.

Shoplifters Caught On Willow Road

Zofia Kwiatkowski, 58, and Patricia Kwiatkowski, 25, both of Chicago, were arrested and charged with retail theft after they allegedly took numerous items from Home Goods in Willow Festival without paying, Wednesday, Jan. 11, then left with their tailgate open, police reported. With the assistance of Glenview police, stopped the women at Patriot and Willow roads and found the items with the price tags still on.

Copper Cable Stolen From ComEd

Someone cut the chain link fence to the ComEd storage yard in the 1400 block of Skokie Boulevard and removed concrete covers weighing several hundred pounds each in order to steal approximately $300 worth of copper cable from a 260-foot trough. The incident happened sometime between Friday, Jan. 6, and Monday, Jan. 9, according to police. 

Graffiti-ed Garage, Picnic Benches, Building

Someone painted graffiti on a garage in the 2200 block of Scott Road sometime between Sunday, Jan. 8, and Monday, Jan. 9, police reported.  

Two picnic benches and the concrete inside the skating area at Techny Prairie Park and Fields were defaced with a black and white marker sometime before Monday, Jan. 9, according to police.

Someone spray-painted the east side of a building in the 1600 block of Illinois sometime between Tuesday, Jan. 10, and Friday, Jan. 13, according to police.
