Blotter: 2 DUIs; $4,000 Watch Stolen At Open House

Driving Under the Influence

Christiaan Irwin, 25, of Chicago, was stopped for a traffic violation in the 1000 block of Waukegan Road Saturday, March 24, and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and driving without insurance, according to police.

Lisa Renee Falen, 25, of Round Lake Beach, was arrested in the 600 block of Waukegan Road Sunday, March 25, and charged with driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol, speeding and improper lane usage, according to police.

$4,000 Watch Stolen During Open House

An Omega watch worth $4,086 was stolen during an open house at a home in the 400 block of Marshall Road Friday, March 16, according to police.

Police responded to a burglar alarm at a commercial building in the 3600 block of Woodhead Drive Sunday, March 18. They discovered that someone had punched the lock out of the back door and that the lock on the alarm box had also been punched and the wires inside had been disconnected. The building’s owner checked the premises but found nothing missing, according to police.

Driving With a Suspended License

Marco A. Palacious-Tapla, 24, of Palatine, was arrested at Lake Cook and Lee roads Monday, March 19, and charged with driving with a loud muffler, driving with suspended registration, driving without valid insurance and driving with a suspended license, police reported.

Federico Romero-Guijosa, 36, of Chicago, was arrested at Shermer Road and Valencia Drive Wednesday, March 21, and charged with speeding in a school zone, driving without a license and driving with a suspended license, according to police.

Richard Dean Finocchi, 41, of Highland Park, was arrested at Yorkshire Lane and Sanders Road Wednesday, March 21, and charged with driving with one taillight, driving without insurance and driving with a suspended license, police reported.

Joel Texcaltenco of Glenview was arrested Friday, March 23, at Shermer and Woodlawn roads and charged with speeding and driving with a suspended license, according to police.

$1,100 Skateboard Stolen, Put Out “For Sale”

Someone took a $1,100 green “Go Ped” motorized skateboard from the driveway of a home in the 2200 block of Greenview Road, then put it out at the end of the driveway with a “For Sale” sign.

Retail Theft

Two Betseyville wallets together worth $120 were stolen from the Betsey Johnson store at Northbrook Court Sunday, March 18, according to police. The wallets were later found in Victoria’s Secret.

Four undergarments worth $250 also went missing from a display at Victoria’s Secret Sunday, March 18, according to police. A woman suspected of stealing the Betseyville wallets that day was also seen leaving Victoria’s Secret.

Someone stole $713.91 worth of flea and tick removal products from the PetSmart on Skokie Boulevard Tuesday, March 20, according to police. The products were kept in a locked, clear plastic box that had been pried open and discarded under a shelf several aisles away from the display.

Someone stole two movies from Best Buy Sunday, March 25, according to police. The videos were later found in the parking lot.

Theft at Glenbrook North

An iPhone worth $400 was stolen from a locker at Glenbrook North Monday, March 19, according to police.

A $400 iPhone was taken from the cafeteria table at Glenbrook North Friday, March 16, police reported.

A $200 iPod Touch was stolen from an unlocked locker at Glenbrook North Wednesday, March 21, according to police.

A $400 iPhone was stolen from a gym locker at Glenbrook North Friday, March 23, according to police.

Mailboxes Damaged

Five mailboxes in the 1300 block of Crestwood Drive and two mailboxes in the 2500 block of Partridge Lane were damaged overnight last weekend, according to police.
