WARRANT ARREST

William A. Haberland, 52, of Lake Forest, was arrested on a warrant for retail theft by Lake Forest police at his home on Saturday, Dec. 17, according to police.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Elizabeth A. Weintraub, 51, of Glenview, was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested in the 2800 block of Shermer Road on Tuesday, Dec. 13, according to police. She was charged with driving under the influence and speeding.

Wojciech J. Korzec, 20, of Carpentersville, was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested at Dundee and Sanders Roads Saturday, Dec. 17, according to police. He was charged with driving under the influence, disobeying a stop sign and two counts of improper lane usage.

BURGLARY ON CRABTREE, ALEXANDRA, CAYUGA

Jewelry worth $11,600 went missing from a home in the 2100 block of Crabtree Lane sometime before Sunday, Dec. 11, police reported.

Someone entered a home under construction in the 1900 block of Alexandra sometime overnight on Wednesday, Dec. 14, and stole two furnaces, two air conditioner units and 38 electrical outlets, according to police. Officers discovered a basement window broken and estimated total damage at about $7,050.

A burglar entered a home in the 1100 block of Cayuga Drive Friday, Dec. 16, and stole a pillowcase and a safe, resulting in total losses worth approximately $40,000, police reported. The burglar entered via a dining room window, combed through a dresser in the master bedroom, and left through a sliding glass door, according to police.

DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE

Greg E. Engel, 54, of Northbrook, was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested Sunday, Dec. 11, at Greenview Road and Mallard Drive, according to police. He was charged with driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance.

POSSESION OF CANNABIS

Kevin R. Fischer, 19, of South Elgin, was issued a local ordinance ticket for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after a companion was stopped for a traffic violation at Dundee and Sanders Roads on Saturday, Dec. 17, according to police.

IDENTITY THEFT

Two credit cards were taken out in the name of a resident of the 1100 block of Antique Lane on Thursday, Dec. 15, without her authorization, police reported.

CREDIT CARD FRAUD

Several credit cards went missing from the purse of a resident of the 2300 block of Illinois Road between Wednesday, Dec. 14, and Thursday, Dec. 15. The cards were used to buy items at local stores, according to police.

RETAIL THEFT

Van T. Vong, 35, of Chicago, was arrested and charged with retail theft Sunday, Dec. 11, after she allegedly left a fitting room at True Religion with only one pair of jeans, not the two she had walked in with, then left the store, according to police. The jeans were worth $172.

STOLLEN WALLET

Someone stole a wallet from a woman’s purse while it was left unattended on a bench at Northbrook Court for approximately three minutes Monday, Dec. 12, according to police.

FLAT TIRE VANDAL

Someone deflated the right front tire on a car parked overnight Tuesday, Dec. 6, in the 1200 block of Shermer Road, police reported.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS VANDAL

Someone cut the wires to the outdoor Christmas lights of a Charlemagne Drive resident sometime during the night of Thursday, Dec. 15, according to police.
