Blotter: 4 DUIs; Burglary on Highland Road

This week's Northbrook police report also includes a thief who turned himself in and $30 to $40 in coins stolen from a soda machine at Sportsman's Country Club.

 Driving Under the Influence

Samuel S. Yoon, 27, of Glenview, was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested at Dundee Road and Timber Lane Sunday, April 15, after police smelled a strong odor of cannabis and took him to Glenbrook Hospital for a blood draw. He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, failing to wear a seatbelt and improper lane usage, according to .

Craig A. McLennon, 24, of Evanston, was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested Saturday, April 21, at Dundee Road and the Edens Expressway, police reported. He was charged with driving under the influence, possession of cannabis and two counts of improper lane usage.

Kenyon L. Lomax, 36, of Lansing, was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested Sunday, April 22 at Dundee and Midway roads, according to police. He was charged with driving with expired registration, driving with a suspended license, three counts of improper lane usage, illegal transport of alcohol and driving under the influence.

Justin A. Lynch, 30, of Glenview, was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested Sunday, April 22, in the 600 block of Waukegan Road. He was charged with improper lane usage, disobeying a stop sign and driving under the influence, according to police. 

Burglary on Highland Road

A resident of the 3300 block of Highland Road left her house at about 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, and returned around 9:20 p.m. to find her dogs locked in a room upstairs during an apparent burglary attempt, according to police. A kitchen window lock was found damaged, but nothing appeared to be missing or disturbed. 

Posession of Cannabis

Curt J. Papas, 19, of Skokie, was stopped for a traffic violation, arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia Friday, April 20, at Northmoor Court and Center Avenue, according to police.

Thief Caught at Neiman Marcus

Shaun D. Washington, 32, of Chicago, was arrested and charged with retail theft after he tried to leave Neiman Marcus without paying for $325 worth of merchandise Wednesday, April 18, according to police. 

Thief at the Y Turns Himself In

Cory Stanford, 21, of Chicago, was arrested and charged with stealing from a locker at the Y after he turned himself in Tuesday, April 7, according to police.

Driving With a Suspended License

Calvin W. Turner, 25, of Chicago, was arrested at Cherry Lane and Western Avenue Wednesday, April 18, and charged with driving with expired registration, driving with a suspended license, possession of a suspended license, and driving without insurance, police reported.

Driving With a Revoked License

Raymond C. Davis, 48, of Chicago, was stopped for a traffic violation, arrested and charged with driving with a revoked license Sunday, April 22, at Waukegan and Voltz roads, according to police.

$1,200 Bicycle Stolen From REI

A Scott Scale 29Er mountain bike worth $1,259 was stolen from REI Sunday, April 15, according to police.

$499 Hard Drive Stolen From Apple Store

A hard drive worth $499 was stolen from the Apple Store Tuesday, April 17, police reported. 

Retail Theft at Home Goods

Anna Kirik, 54, of Chicago, was issued a ticket for retail theft and asked not to return to Home Goods after she was caught on video taking less than $20 worth of merchandise from the store without paying Monday, April 16, according to police.

iPhone Stolen at Glenbrook North

Someone took an iPhone worth $200 from a gym locker at Glenbrook North Monday, April 9, according to police. 

Mountain Bike Stolen on Founders Drive

A white mountain bike with black lettering was stolen in the 2100 block of Founders Drive Saturday, April 21, according to police.  It had been left unsecured on the east side of a building. 

Broken Car Window in Commuter Lot

Someone broke the window on the passenger side sliding door of a car parked in the commuter lot in the 1400 block of Shermer Road Monday, April 16, according to police.

Coins Stolen From the Soda Machine at Sportsman’s

Someone took $30 to $40 in coins from the soda machine at the practice range of Sportsman’s Country Club, according to police. A metal tool that could have been used to pry open the machine was found on the ground nearby. 

Dundee Road Building, Tennis Courts Defaced

Someone wrote the letters “FOU” on the front of a building in the 500 block of Dundee Road sometime before Monday, April 16, police reported.

Police found white images spray-painted on the surface of the far west end of the tennis courts in the 600 block of Berglund Place on Friday, April 20.
