Blotter: A Pair of Burglaries

The police blotter for Oct. 11 to 17.

Burglary

Police reported that a home on the 900 block of Suffield Terrace was broken into Oct. 14. Entry was gained by prying a window open. Jewelry, cash and other items were reported missing valued at approximately $70,000.

Police reported that a home on the 1900 block of Thornwood Lane was broken into by means of a window Oct. 15.  Parts of the home were ransacked and an unknown amount of jewelry was missing.

Driving With a Suspended License

A 29-year-old Northbrook man was arrested for driving with a suspended license at 1300 Shermer Rd. Oct. 10. He was released on $1,500 bond.

A 25-year-old Chicago man was stopped by police on Waukegan and Dundee roads and charged for having one headlight, an improper display of registration, not having a valid registration, not having insurance and driving with a suspended license. He was released on $2,000 bond.

Driving Without Valid License

A 23-year-old Chicago man was arrested Oct. 14 on Willow and Waukegan roads for driving without a valid license. He was released on $1,500 bond.

A 32-year-old Oak Park woman was arrested Oct. 16 on Willow Rd. near Princeton Lane for driving without a valid license and a suspended registration. There was an outstanding warrant for her in DuPage County for driving without a valid license and having expired plates. She was released on $6,000 bond.

Theft

A 35-year-old Chicago woman was arrested Oct. 16 for attempting to leave the Nordstrom Rack on Skokie Blvd. without paying for $458.52 in merchandise. She was charged with felony retail theft.

A 38-year-old Schaumburg woman was arrested Oct. 15 for attempting to leave the Macy's in Northbrook Court without paying for $298 in merchandise. She was released on $1,000 bond.
