Blotter: Burglary on Quail Lane; 7 Eyeglasses Stolen

Police report arrests and other activity from Sept. 5 - 11.

The items below came from  reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

BURGLARY ON QUAIL LANE

A man told a resident of a Quail Lane home that he was doing work for her neighbor and needed to go into the yard to check the fencing Tuesday, Sept. 13. While she was outside with him, someone entered her front door and searched the bedroom, according to police. The woman’s neighbor told her that they had not contracted anyone to work on the fence. It is not yet known whether anything is missing, according to police.

DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE

James N. Ransdell, 23, of Northbrook, was arrested at Walters and Western avenues Friday, Sept. 16, and charged with driving with a suspended license, police reported. He was also charged with driving without insurance and disobeying a traffic control device.

SHOPLIFTING

After two women spent 10 minutes in the store and left, seven pairs of glasses went missing from displays at on Willow Road, Thursday, Sept. 15, according to police. 

THEFT

A woman lost her $220 Samsung cell phone at a football game at Friday, Sept. 9. When she returned to look for it the next day, it was not in the lost and found, according to police.

A man reported that approximately $500 went missing from his Illinois Road home while he was out of town, according to police. 

A $300 black and yellow Paul Stagger BMX trick bicycle was stolen from the backyard of a Longaker Road home between Friday, Sept. 9, and Tuesday, Sept. 13, according to police.

Someone took a garbage can from a Prince Street home between 10 and 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, according to police.

An iPhone 4 was stolen from an unlocked gym locker between 7:40 and 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at . 

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO A MAILBOX, TENNIS BALL CADDIES AND 4 FLOWERS

Someone caused an estimated $500 in damage to a mailbox on Floral Drive between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, according to police.

Someone poured an unknown black substance over four flowers on Bellevue Place, “causing them to start to die,” according to police. Damage was estimated at $350.

Three tennis ball caddies with attachable trash cans, valued at $150 each, were damaged Friday, Sept. 16, at , according to police.

VANDALISM—WITH SOAP

Someone put soap in the fountain at , causing a large amount of bubbles to appear on Wednesday, Sept. 14, according to police.
