Blotter: Teen Flees Police With Alcohol

Police report arrests and other activity from Aug. 29 - Sept. 4.

The items below came from Northbrook Police Department reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

DUI Arrests
Juan Carlos DeJesus-Cejeda, 27, of Chicago, was arrested along Dundee Road on Sept. 2, and charged with driving under the influence, driving without a valid license, driving without insurance and two counts of improper lane usage, according to police.

Neil Andrew Schnitzler, 24, of Northbrook, was arrested at Dundee and Waukegan roads on Sept. 2, and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and making an improper turn at an intersection, according to police.

Patrick G. Spillane, 49, of Wheeling, was arrested at Willow Road and Salceda Drive on Sept. 3, and charged with driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol and improper lane usage, according to police.

Tomer Bega, 38, of Skokie, was arrested at Dundee and Midway roads on Sept. 3, and charged with driving under the influence, speeding and improper lane usage, according to police.

Stephen M. Smith, 52, of Peoria, was arrested at Skokie Boulevard and Dundee Road on Sept. 3, and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and making an improper turn, according to police.

Daniel Padilla, 46, of Chicago, was stopped for a traffic violation at Dundee and Landwehr roads on Sept. 4. He was subsequently arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and driving without a valid license, according to police.

Suspended License
Oscar A. Carmona-Villatta, 48, of Palatine, was arrested Aug. 31 at Willow and Greenwood roads, and charged with driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and making an illegal turn on red, according to police.

Yaseen Osman, 43, of Chicago, was arrested Sept. 3 at 600 Waukegan Rd. and charged with driving with a suspended license and failing to signal, according to police.

Driving With a Revoked License
Jose D. Ayala, 32, of Prospect Heights, was arrested Sept. 4 after he was involved in a car accident at Dundee and Waukegan roads, according to police. He was charged with driving with a revoked license.

Driving Without a Valid License
Marco A. Riveria Ramirez, 22, of Prospect Heights, was arrested Sept. 4 at Dundee and Waukegan roads, and charged with driving without a valid license, driving without proof of insurance and failing to reduce speed.

Teen Flees, Gets Caught With Alcohol
Police investigated a report that a suspicious individual with a backpack was sitting in the middle of Michelline Lane on Sept. 4.

When an officer spotted Edward J. Kenny, 18, of Champaign, in the middle of the street, he climbed through a hole in a wooden fence in one backyard, according to police. The officer yelled for him to stop but Kenny ran away.

As he fled police, Kenny jumped over a cedar privacy fence in one backyard along Bordeaux Court, breaking a cedar post cap in half.
Police found him on Dauphine Avenue, arrested him and took him to the station. In searching the backpack, officers discovered a bottle of cognac, a glass pipe and a tar-like residue in a cigarette case, according to police.

Kenny was charged with underage possession of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal damage to property, according to police.
