Blotter: Coach Purse Swiped; Lingerie Stolen at Nordstrom Rack

Skokie Man Charged with Domestic Battery

Matthew Fornalewski, 20, was charged with domestic battery May 18, police said. Police said he fled the scene in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road and was apprehended a short distance away.

Wilmette Man Charged with DUI

Jeffrey Kamberos, 56, of Wilmette was charged May 18 with driving under the influence of alcohol and other traffic offenses after he was pulled over at Meadow Road and Cherry Lane, police said. He also was charged with failing to signal, failing to wear a seatbelt and driving without insurance.  

Northbrook Man Charged with DUI

Michael Grossman, 47, of Northbrook was charged May 19 with driving under the influence of alcohol and two counts of improper lane usage after a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Big Oak Lane, police said.

Wilmette Woman Charged with Retail Theft

Eleni Daskalakis, 42, of Wilmette was charged with retail theft May 17 after she placed several items of lingerie in various areas of her child’s stroller and attempted to leave Nordstrom Rack, 199 Skokie Blvd., without paying for them, police said. The children were turned over to the custody of their father.

Bike Theft at GNHS

A locked, 10-speed bicycle was stolen May 16 from a rack by the athletic entrance at Glenbrook North High School, 2300 Shermer Rd.

Cellphone Theft at GNHS

A cellphone was taken May 14 from a Glenbrook North High School student who reported that he was with some friends south of the school when he noticed his phone was missing.  

Resident Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

Michael A Threatte, 28, of Northbrook was arrested May 16 on outstanding warrants for failing to appear in Lake County Court on a forgery charge and failing to appear in DuPage County Court on a deceptive practices charge, police said. He was apprehended after being charged with domestic battery for pushing and choking a victim in the 4100 block of Cardinal Court.

Glenview Woman Arrested for Driving on a Suspended License

Sonia Kim, 23, of Glenview was charged with driving on a suspended license and having an expired registration May 14 after a traffic stop in the area of Shermer Road and Maple Avenue, police said.

Purse Swiped at Coach Store

A purse valued at $598 was stolen May 13 from the Coach Store at Northbrook Court. An employee told police a customer came in and purchased one handbag for $698 but when the alarm at the front entrance went off, the employee noticed that the customer left the store with another bag without paying for it.

Tablet Stolen at YMCA

A Viewsonic G-Tab was stolen May 14 from an unlocked locker at the North Suburban YMCA, 2705 Techny Rd. Estimated loss is $299.
